Replace Furnace Filter: Even though spring is right around the corner we are still feeling the wrath of winter weather. With the furnace kicked into high gear it is important to regularly change the furnace filter. The filter in your furnace helps to trap the dust and dirt particles and enhance the air quality in your home. You should change your filter every one to two months.
Cut Energy Costs: Even simple changes around the house can make a big difference when it comes to energy costs. If you haven’t already switched to energy efficient light bulbs do it now and save more money in the long run on energy costs. Other ways to save include low-flow shower heads and ensuring your home is well insulated.
Add Some Charm: If your home is boring you lately consider adding some new design elements. If you love the charm of older homes you could add some character to your own house by adding crown molding or wainscoting. For a quick room update you could also replace light fixtures, door handles, drawer pulls, etc.
Spruce Up Your Cabinets: If you notice your wood cabinets are looking worn out give them a little TLC. Apply a varnish/stain of your choice after cleaning and a light sanding to give your cabinets a fresh new look.
