Earth Day is intended to raise awareness about a wide range of environmental issues and to inspire people to take personal action to address them. There are so many things you can do to help such as recycling, using reusable grocery bags, signing up for paperless billing, using less water, or simply driving less.
At 1st Advantage Mortgage, Sean Corcoran does his part by riding his bike to work every day. He takes the Metra from Chicago to Lombard and keeps his bike posted up at the train station. From there, he bikes to the office; a 4 mile bike ride. This seems like a simple task, but not many people do it because driving is so convenient. Sean says, “It’s a wonderful way to build up some early morning energy; and I walk into work both wide awake and unable to walk properly.”
Sean began riding his bike three years ago around Chicago, where he lives. He rides his bike every day in order to save money and time, and to get some exercise. He says, “Biking through Chicago has become a nice way to explore the city and to keep myself in some type of shape.” He only has one bike. He keeps it in Lombard during the week and takes it back to the city on weekends.
What will you do this Earth Day to help the environment?
