In two weeks, on July 18, Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation will be holding an evening cruise on Lake Michigan called Cruisin’ For a Cure to support the cause of early detection research. Pancreatic Cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related death in the United States. It spreads rapidly and is seldom detected in its early stages. There is often a poor prognosis for Pancreatic Cancer because signs and symptoms may not appear until pancreatic cancer is quite advanced and complete surgical removal is no longer possible.
At 1st Advantage Mortgage, Kevin Braude is the President of the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Kevin lost his father to pancreatic cancer over 10 years ago and joined the Foundation shortly after. Since then, he has been very involved in events, activities, and fundraising.
In May, Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation held their annual Dash for Detection 5K in Grant Park where over 1,400 people participated and helped raise $295,000.
Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is a private foundation that raises funds for early detection of Pancreatic Cancer. To date, the Foundation has raised over $6,000,000, and has provided funding for pancreatic cancer research at Johns Hopkins and University of Chicago, while also providing resources to patients and their loved ones.
