  • 3-4 very ripe bananas, smashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup of sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter your loaf pan.

Step 2: In a large bowl, begin mashing the bananas with a wooden spoon. Slowly stir in the melted butter.

Step 3: Mix in the sugar, beaten egg and vanilla.

Step 4: Sprinkle and mix in the baking soda and salt over the mixture.

Step 5: Slowly mix in the flour.

Step 6: Pour the batter into your buttered bread pan and bake for 1 hour. Make sure to check at the 50 minute mark by inserting a toothpick into the center. When your bread is ready, the toothpick will come out clean.

Step 7: Let your bread cool completely on a rack. Slice then serve.

This recipe is best enjoyed warm, with a glass of cold milk or a cup of coffee. You can even add some butter on your warm banana bread. Hope you enjoy and let us know what else you would like to try.
