1amvolunteers-brookfield-zoo-community-tree-trimLast weekend, members of the 1st Advantage Mortgage staff decorated a tree at Brookfield Zoo for the Community Tree Trim. This event occurs every year during the holiday season at Brookfield Zoo where they assemble forests of Christmas trees throughout the zoo as part of the annual “Holiday Magic” event. The proceeds of this event go to the Chicago Zoological Society, a private non-profit organization that operates Brookfield Zoo on land owned by the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

The zoo staff strings lights on each tree, but each tree’s ornaments are provided and placed on the tree by the sponsoring group. We held a handmade ornament contest in the weeks leading up to the decoration event. All handmade ornaments were placed on the outdoor tree to remain on display throughout the holiday season, along with specially designed 1AM logo ornaments.

We’re so proud of our tree display and appreciate everyone who participated in creating ornaments and decorating our tree. If you are planning a visit to the zoo during the Holiday Magic Festival, be sure to stop by to see our tree in the East Mall, number 141.
