Keith Hoffman, a loan originator at our corporate headquarters in Lombard, Illinois, has always been passionate about giving back to his community and non-profit organizations. Keith has been involved with many organizations over the years, including the Summit Club, Kiwanis Club of Downers Grove, DuPage Habitat for Humanity, High School District 99 Education Foundation in Downers Grove and the Rotary Club of Downers Grove.
Keith was honored in 2011 with the Downers Grove Citizen of the Year award, presented by the YMCA. This award is given to the individual that has gone above and beyond in their service efforts for the community of Downers Grove, and is chosen by a committee of past Citizen of the Year winners.
For the past 15 years, Keith has been a member of the Rotary Club of Downers Grove, and currently serves on the club’s board of directors as public relations chairperson. As a member of the Rotary Club, Keith helped create a program called R.A.M.S.S. (Rotarians Assisting Middle School Students), which offers a variety of activities and clubs to middle schoolers who may need extra attention or guidance outside of school.
Also with the Rotary Club, Keith has volunteered with Alliance for Smiles, an international group that travels around the world donating their cleft lip and other palette reconstruction services to deserving children. Keith has spent time in China aiding Alliance for Smiles on two separate occasions describing the experience as “life changing”.
Keith says his inspiration for getting involved in community service and volunteering “is part of my life. You have to give back to the community. You have to give back and this is the way I do it. There are so many people and organizations in need. If you don’t do something, it just doesn’t make you a whole person.”
