With a good dose of vitamin C, K, E and fiber, kiwis are often used in fruit salad and desserts or as a garnish, but have you ever thought to use them in a cocktail? Kiwis have a distinct tart flavor and are an excellent fruit to muddle into an adult beverage, especially when paired with the sweet, fruity flavor of peach liqueur. Surprise your guests with this fresh cocktail as an alternative to a margarita at your next social gathering.
- 1 medium kiwi, peeled and cut into large chunks
- 1 ounce peach liqueur (avoid budget peach schnapps and try a brand with a true peachy flavor)
- ¼ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- ½ ounces vodka
- 1 ½ ounces dry sparkling wine, such as Prosecco
- Kiwi slice for garnish (optional)
Step 1: Fill a rocks glass with ice and set aside.
Step 2: Add kiwi, lime juice and peach liqueur into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle until the kiwi releases its juice.
Step 3: Next, add vodka to the shaker and fill halfway with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty. Strain liquid into the prepared rocks glass.
Step 4: Top the glass with sparkling wine and gently stir to combine. Garish glass with a kiwi slice if desired.
