Preparing for the Mortgage Paperwork
When purchasing a home there will be a good deal of paperwork so it is important to be prepared so you are not overwhelmed. You will start buy filling out a loan application which is formally called the Uniform Residential Loan Application. The initial application helps lenders determine if you are a good candidate for a loan as well as what type and how much of a loan you may qualify for. If you feel intimidated filling out the application form don’t hesitate to contact your lender for help.
During the application process you will also need to be prepared to provide personal information, employment information, as well as details of all income and assets. Some of the required documents include W2 forms, pay stubs, bank statements, copies of ID and social security card and so on.
Other documents you will be seeing and signing during the homebuying process includes the Purchase Contract, the Deed of Trust/Mortgage Note, HUD-1 Settlement Statement, Good Faith Estimate, Title Insurance, Property Insurance, and HOA documentation if applicable.
